Lorena graduated from the nursing program at Casper College in 2001 and started working for Dr Laura Smothers that August. They have now been a team for 20 years! Lorena’s main focus is providing excellent patient care in a timely and efficient manner. She feels a great responsibility to be a caring, compassionate advocate for each patient we see. Andrea Brown
RN
Andrea joined us at CGS in September of 2020 and is the newest member of our healthcare team. She previously worked with Dr. Laura Smothers and Lorena at Women’s Health Associates in both the front office and RN capacities, so she was our top pick to replace Dr. Lane’s previous office nurse of 13 years who retired in 2020. Andrea graduated from the nursing program at Casper College in 2007 and brings compassion, integrity, and attention to detail to her new role here at Casper General Surgery.
Shanice Mayfield
Shanice joined our team in 2020 as the receptionist and front office coordinator for CGS. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science with a minor in Health Service Administration from Presentation College in Aberdeen, South Dakota in 2018. She brings a positive and welcoming attitude to her role as the first and last person patients see at our office. The rest of us at CGS appreciate that she is decades younger and light-years cooler than we are, and she is not afraid of technology.
Christie Hilde
Christie has worked at CGS since 2018, and now serves as our medical biller. She has a BA in paralegal studies from the University of North Dakota, and has over 20 years of billing and medical admissions experience with outpatient clinics, hospitals, and non-profit organizations. One of her biggest roles here at CGS is to work with patients so their bill is not a burden to them. She helps them set up payment plans and apply for other community resources if necessary.
